Sheila Carney rsm (US)

Sister Sheila Carney, RSM is a member of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas. During her 50 years of membership she has served her community and the local and national church in a wide variety of positions from teaching in elementary school to serving in regional and national leadership.

Denise Fox rsm (ANZ)

Chair of the Board
Denise Fox is a member of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand. She has worked in education ministries at secondary and adult levels, and has recently completed a time in congregational leadership. She has been a member of boards of healthcare, finance, education, communication, and housing ministries.

Margaret Casey rsm

Margaret Casey rsm is Congregational Leader of the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy. She is from Co. Longford, Ireland and entered religious life in 1967. She originally trained as a secondary school teacher but later completed a Masters degree in Social Work, going on to work with children and families.

Prior to taking up leadership of The Congregation, Margaret served as Provincial Leader in the Western Province of the Congregation, in local leadership in Galway and as Congregational Treasurer.

Susan Clarke (British)

Susan Clarke is Head Teacher of Broughton Hall Catholic High School, Liverpool. She joined Broughton Hall in 1986, becoming Head Teacher in 2013.

Susan was born in Liverpool and trained at Hull Teacher Training College, formerly Endsleigh. She has taught in Liverpool since 1981. 

Scholasticah Nganda rsm

A Kenyan woman by birth, Scholasticah went to school with the Sisters of Mercy in Kenya, taught with the Mercies in their school (Makueni Girls' Secondary-Kenya) and later joined the Congregation of Sisters of Mercy (Ireland).

Scholasticah is a member of the Congregational Leadership Team (Ireland).

 

Colette Cronin rsm (British)

Colette is a member of the Institute of Our Lady of Mercy (GB) and at present a member of her congregational Leadership Team.

After teaching secondary level for eleven years, Colette worked in adminstration for the Institute
for a number of years including as General Bursar from 1998 - 2003.

Ron Ashworth (US)

Ron is currently serving as Chair of the U.S. Fundraising Committee for MIA.

Ron previously served as the President/CEO of Mercy Health System based in St. Louis, Missouri and also subsequently served as Chair of the Health System Board of Directors. He spent the majority of his professional career serving in the health care industry which included approximately ten years of service as the national health care director of KPMG.

Mary Moorhead

Born in Tanzania, brought up in the Lebanon Mary Moorhead, Chief Executive of the Mater Foundation, was raised in a family with a firm commitment to the values of care and justice.

Following her marketing degree she joined St John Ambulance in London in 1989 which provided her with a great insight in to the not-for-profit sector. Returning to Ireland in 1993 she commenced working with World Vision Ireland; an NGO working in Africa and Ireland’s leading Child Sponsorship agency. In February 2000 she was appointed Executive Director. She worked across Africa from war-torn Somalia to Swaziland, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.

Since joining the Mater Foundation as Chief Executive in 2003, under her stewardship the organisation has grown by over 200%. It is now the largest adult hospital foundation in the country and plays a significant role in funding innovative and trail-blazing treatment and care within the Mater Hospital.

Kevin Hoy

Kevin is the Head of the Real Estate Law team at Mason, Hayes & Curran, dealing in particular with major projects, Real Estate finance, the public sector and charities.

A previous Head of Financial Services, Kevin advises buyers and sellers of loan portfolios and real estate portfolios.

Kevin also advises various public sector bodies including hospitals and universities on their real estate and related needs.
