Sisters of Mercy of Great Britain

About Us
Sisters
The Sisters of Mercy in England, Scotland and Wales consist of three independent groups each with its own authority. Historically, each Convent of Mercy in England, Scotland and Wales was founded to be independent. However, in recent decades there has been some change. A number of Convents continue to choose to remain independent - under the title of The Federation of the Sisters of Mercy, while others have amalgamated to form two larger groups — The Institute of Our Lady of Mercy and The Sisters of Mercy of the Union of Great Britain
Mercy Associates
“It began with two: Mary Anne Doyle and I.” Catherine McAuley The Sisters of Mercy experience the support and collaboration of many women and men with whom the values of Mercy, Compassion and Prayer are shared. The Sisters have formed an association with women, men and youth who:
- Want to deepen their Christian call to live the Gospel values
- Desire to share the values of the Mercy Congregation
- Delight in sharing the charism of Catherine McAuley
- Wish to bring their individual charism of Mercy to everyday life and work
Youth Mercy Associates
Youth Mercy Associates allows young people to be part of the Mercy family. The aim of the YMA is to follow in the footsteps of Christ, so that they become active, caring members of the Mercy family under the protection of Our Lady of Mercy.
