Catherine's Canonisation Cause

Rome - statueAnne Hannon - Visit to Rome

Recently, I decided to visit Rome so that I would have some sense of the scene there with regards to the process towards canonisation. It was a very rich visit and well worthwhile. I stayed in an apartment at the invitation of the Alma, Michigan sisters. They showed me true Mercy hospitality by meeting me at the airport and delivering me to the apartment. I met on three different occasions with Fr. Martin Nolan OSA, who is Postulator for the cause of Catherine. We discussed what each of us is doing with regard to the cause and we agreed to keep in contact by e-mail and telephone.

Rome - fountainI, also, purchased a very good book on the canonisation process which I know will be very helpful to me. You may not be aware that two cases have been returned to their dioceses for examination by diocesan commissions, so we await the results of their deliberations. Meanwhile let us try to make Catherine and her virtue known whenever and wherever we get the opportunity. It is very gratifying and inspiring to see the world-wide devotion to Catherine and I have no doubt that the Lord will look kindly on our desire to have Catherine beatified.
