The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has announced
the availability of a kit of materials for this year's World
Environment Day, 5th June. A copy of the kit in English has
been mailed to the Communications Liaison for MGC in each of
the 9 member groupings of the Mercy International Association.
Copies in Spanish are also available. Some of the materials
in the kit will be accessible on the UNEP website as follows:

In addition, some United Nations Information Centres and UN
offices in capital cities, as well as UNEP regional offices
in Nairobi and Washington DC, will probably have copies of the
kit.
Mercy Global Concern takes this opportunity to advertise another
publication that was published by the UNEP office in New York
as the result of a project known as the 'Interfaith Partnership
for the Environment'. A representative of the Sisters of Mercy
has served on this group since it began more than 10 years ago.
Copies of the booklet, entitled: 'EARTH AND FAITH: A book of
reflection for action', were sent in January this year to the
leader of each Mercy International member grouping, and to each
Focal Point of the Mercy International Justice Network. The
booklet includes resources from many faith and spiritual traditions.
It can serve as both a resource and a catalyst for organising
events for World Environment Day with an interfaith character.

(developing countries) will normally be sent free of charge.
