Christmas Greetings 2004

Come, let us gather 'round the manger, bearing the gift of ourselves, our hopes and longings. May our hearts speak to the heart of the Child who joins us in this beautiful, terrible world. Let us ask that the peace and love He brings touch the hearts of every man, woman, and child. Let us ask for the grace to be merciful, gentle peacemakers wherever we may be.

Sister of Mercy of the Americas

As we remember this Christmas 2004 the birth of the child for whom 'no room' could be found, may we open our hearts to the invitation to 'make room for the other' - for our God, for the other who is different, for the other we meet within our hearts. May we share with one another our own gift of peace.

Blessings from Patricia Fox, Paula Smith, Gwen Garland and all at the
National Centre of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia.

Merry Christmas! Blessed Christmas to all my Sisters throughout the world.
My two years at Baggot Street with the privileged responsibility for Heritage have opened my mind (and God willing, my heart) to the wideness of God's mercy and the unity of the Mercy community. To those who I met in Dublin, I am back safely in the Detroit and I am working in our own Heritage offices. God bless us, everyone.

Maureen McGarrigle, rsm Detroit/Americas

May all of us Mercy Sisters continue to share and experience peace in our lives and ministries. May this prayerful dedication bring peace to our world, especially to the poorest and most vulnerable this season. We are a small world after all!

" He will rule His people with justice and integrity." (Is 11:5)

From the Land of the Cedars, greetings to Sisters of Mercy throughout the world!
Here's wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a New Year that is everything you'd like it to be! To those who have already sent greetings, thank you for sharing your time and love.

I would like to share the following prayer which was said in our household every night during Advent after the rosary (15 times).

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure virgin Mary at Midnight in Bethlehem in the piercing cold.
In that same hour vouchsafe O my God to hear our prayers and grant our petitions amen.

Love and prayers from Sr. M. deLourdes Great Britain/Lebanon

The Earth Link community, in Australia, wish you peace and joy during this season, when we gather to celebrate God's presence
- in every aspect of the emergence of the universe
- in the consciousness of each human person, and
- in the wisdom of Jesus in our midst.
