Artistic Response: Incarnate God in the Cosmos and in the Person of Jesus
Corlita Bonnarens rsm (Americas): 'The Compassionate Heart of the Cosmos'

I believe that “the Feminine” gives birth to life in many forms. In this watercolor painting, I tried to give expression to the Feminine and Creation.
Only when I added (at a later time) streaks of white to shape a heart, did I realize that power and energy emanate from that merciful, compassionate heart—thus the title of the painting: “The Compassionate Heart of the Cosmos”.

'I have been creating art in clay and in watercolor painting in my art studio at Mercy Center in St. Louis, MO for the past 35 years as well as teaching art and spirituality programs. I am blessed to be able to use the gifts that my Creator has given me and share them with others. I consider the creative process to be sacred and a way of giving expression to my spirituality.'
