An exciting opportunity exists to join a newly established MGA task force on Oceans to commence in March 2022. The Ocean task force is directly linked to Mercy Global Action’s priority themes of migration, water, and climate justice.
Mercy Global Action task forces are issue-based, time-limited, and have an action-oriented focus. Comprising of approximately twelve members, including the MGA team, this task force will draw upon the experience, expertise, and aspirations of its members in relation to Oceans. See Terms of Reference for the MGA Ocean Task Force here.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open for membership of the Oceans MGA Task Force and will close on Tuesday, Feb 22, 2022 at 5pm, EDT. Sign up here!
Selection will be based on a range of perspectives, including different knowledge and experience levels, geographic locations, cultural backgrounds, and other lived experiences.

MIA Prayer Intention: International Women's Day
On March 8, the world will celebrate International Women’s Day. MIA holds in prayer all women and girls, who lift up each other and others to make our world a better place. As Catherine once said, “No work of charity can be more productive of good to society than the careful instruction of women.” And so we pray that women continue to be included, educated, and lifted up so that they not only have a voice at the table but are influential in creating a more inclusive society.
MIA invites members of Mercy World to participate in an International Women’s Day virtual event organised by Mercy Global Action with featured speaker Sr. Magdelene Musau (Kenya). Join us on 8 March at 11am (Dublin). More information is available here. Please register your attendance using the form here.

Mercy Sisters Embrace the World of Podcasting
Six Mercy Sisters from the Western Province, Ireland have embraced the world of Podcasting. Drawing from their various life experiences as Teachers, Social workers, Doctors and Counsellors, as well as being Mercy Sisters, these women tell their life-stories through a prism of Mercy. Over the course of their lives, which have taken them on remarkable journeys, and indeed many highs and lows, the Sisters reveal their stories of hope and perseverance in their chosen fields. They speak in detail about how the Charism of Mercy has enfolded in their journeys and how many of them have embraced new ways of living out their vocations, and of engaging with the world in the 21st Century.
