Mercy International Association (MIA) is seeking to recruit a Head of Heritage and Spirituality and separately, a Head of MIA's Opening Doors Programme.
The Head of Heritage and Spirituality will oversee the promotion and safeguarding of Mercy Heritage from Mercy International Centre, the First Mercy House at Baggot Street Dublin.
Our Opening Doors Programme is a vital and creative way for the Mercy charism and the spirit of Catherine McAuley to be present in the world long into the future. The Head of our Opening Doors Programme will lead out on this initiative.

Wednesday 21 May 2025 marked a milestone anniversary for Mukuru Promotion Centre (MPC) in Kenya. MPC is commemorating its 40th anniversary of journeying with the Mukuru community. They put together a Commemorative Book for the Anniversary and an 8-minute video that points to the empowerment of thousands over the years. Sr Mary Killeen rsm has shares some of her reflections on the past 40 years.

Sisters of Mercy Announce 2025 Winners of Social Justice Video Contest
The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas announced the winners of the eighth annual Social Justice Video Contest. Students participating in the contest were given a choice of two topics, the empowerment of women or reducing consumption. The grand prize was won by students from Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School in Lower Gwynedd Township, Pennsylvania.

A warm MIC welcome for our Members
We welcomed our Members from across the Mercy World to Mercy International Centre from Wednesday 14th May to Monday 19th May for their annual meeting. Members received a warm welcome and enjoyed several good cups of tea while they were with us. They also had an opportunity to visit Coolock House.

We hosted our second Mercy Communications Café on Tuesday 13th May 2025 on Zoom. Our guest speaker Fr Philip Larrey spoke about the fantastic implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI). In his address Father Philip gave us a definition of what AI is, shared the story of AI to date and introduced us to some of the developers of AI.

Pope Leo XIV - man of the people for the people: a note from Sr Mildred Brennan rsm
Sisters of Mercy Newfoundland have been in Peru since 1961 and now minister in two areas of the country – in Puerto Eten, Reque and Eten, in the Chiclayo region and in Huarmey, Ancash. Their presence in the Chiclayo region means they have come to know Pope Leo XIV, formerly Bishop Prevost. Sr Mildred Brennan rsm who has spent 57 years in Peru writes about Pope Leo here.

They took time out in our garden to plant a holly shrub in memory of Sr Judith Mouch rsm who passed away last December. May she rest in peace. The official website of the Vatican has been refreshed and given a new look for the first time since it was created in the 1990s. The new-look site features more multimedia content and useful links to Vatican offices and initiatives. The site features a banner image of a waving Pope Leo XIV against a simple and inviting background.
Acquiring tickets for papal audiences and liturgical celebrations has also been made easier through the updated website which also prominently features the Jubilee Year.

The Mercy Mission Formation Network (MMFN) held its annual gathering in May. The MMFN has been meeting since 2009 with this year’s gathering organised by Sisters Margaret Endicott and Ailsa Mackinnon, along with Micheal O’Sullivan and Caroline Thompson. More than 20 people attended including sisters and colleagues from Mercy Congregations and Institutes, Mercy Ministerial Public Juridic Persons and Mercy ministries from Australia and New Zealand.
