Mercy Echoes is the official podcast of Mercy International Association (MIA), presented by Brenda Drumm, MIA Head of Communications.
MIA is an organisation of the leaders of Mercy Congregations, Institutes and Federations throughout the world, founded to serve the Sisters of Mercy, their associates and partners in ministry.
The purpose of this Association is to inspire Sisters of Mercy and their Associates to incarnate the spirit o Catherine McAuley in ways which are creative and appropriate to the needs of our time and to foster unity of mind and heart among Sisters of Mercy worldwide.

Our guest for episode seven is Karen Schneider RSM, MD,MPH. Karen is a Pediatric Emergency Physician at John’s Hopkins Hospital Baltimore, Maryland in the US. She has aMasters in Public Health Medicine.
She also offers a Global Health Elective which involves caring for children in resource poor countries who have no otheraccess to medical care.
Karen speaks to Brenda about her dual vocation to religious life and to medicine. She shares a day in her busy life which involves living in community and working on the frontline of emergency care.
She also speaks about her Global Medicine Elective which sees her travel with a team to resource poor countries to offer care to children who have no other access to medical care.
