MIA Prayer Intention: 1 October, International Day of Older Persons

During this COVID-19 pandemic we have all been conscious of the vulnerabilities and special needs of the elderly. Today is an opportunity to celebrate the special gifts that older people bring to us with the wisdom of their years. Pope Francis has reminded us that ‘Life is a gift, and when it is long it is a privilege, for oneself and for others. Always.’

Let us continue to give thanks for those enjoying their seniority, respect them and learn from them. For those among us who are elderly, may we know ourselves to be ‘a storehouse of wisdom’.
