MIA Prayer Intention: Extreme Weather Conditions

The Season of Creation offers us one opportunity to celebrate the 'sublime gift and legacy' of the natural environment and to reflect on our personal and collective responsibility to care for the whole of creation (Pope Francis & Patriarch Bartholomew).

Today and in past days we have witnessed a series of disastrous events - vicious hurricanes called Harvey and Irma, a monster earthquake in Mexico, wildfires on the US west coast... We have heard the 'cry of the Earth and the cry of the Poor' in confronting ways in these events and in Myanmar’s treatment of its Muslim Rohingya minority .

Let us continue to pray for and support where we can all affected by these extreme weather events. Organisations handling disaster relief include Catholic Charities and Catholic Relief Services

Post your own Prayer or Reflection in our online Chapel
