Participate in Wellsprings, May-June 2019

We are delighted that a number of Sisters of Mercy from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia and Papua New Guinea are already booked to attend this year's Wellspring programme.

There are still a few residential spaces available in the programme for Sisters wishing to enrol. Participants living out are also welcome to join the programme.

Mercy International Association will present this 4-week renewal programme from 4pm on Sunday, 19 May to 11am Friday, 14 June 2019.

Participants will have the opportunity to take time out in an atmosphere of warmth, hospitality, and internationality in order to discern more clearly the invitation of the Spirit in how to live out the mission of Mercy in our church and world.

The main presenters this year will be  Anne Curtis rsm (Americas), Brenda Dolphin rsm (The Congregation, Sheila Carney rsm (Americas) and Margaret Daley Denton. Guest presenters will be Elizabeth Davis rsm (Newfoundland), Carmel Bracken rsm (The Congregation) and Margaret Prendergast rsm (The Congregation).

Anne Curtis rsm will be present for the month and will weave an ecological and justice thread throughout the programme, untilising her experience with liturgy and ritual. Brenda and Sheila will reflect on the writings and actions of Catherine McAuley within the context of Mercy Religious life today. Margaret Daly-Denton will use examples from the Gospel of John, sharing some of the earth-conscious insights that came to her when she wrote the book: John: An Earth Bible Commentary, Supposing Him to Be the Gardener, encouraging participants to share the unique ecological perspective that each of them will bring from their own experiences to their reading of the Gospel and to explore understandings of mercy.

The programme will be supported throughout by the staff at Mercy International Centre who will give participants opportunities to engage with the stories of the House, of Catherine and the first women here and our global mercy story today.

Cost: €3000 (Residential); €1900 (Non-residential).

Secure your place using our Eventbrite booking system.
