Sharing Christmas Greetings 2020

As we bring this year to its conclusion, we invite you to share a Christmas greeting with the global Mercy community.

Send in your greetings - text or text and image - for posting online by Christmas Eve.

Email your greetings to: mercyenews@mercyinternational.ie

Dear Mercy Family across the globe!
Yes, it is good to celebrate in joy and hope that the birthing of Jesus is in our midst!  What an extraordinary year it has been and yet the multiple expressions of “God among us” have never been truer and more tangible than at this time of global suffering.  We are one family in Mercy and we are one in being the very mercy of God for one another and for our suffering world.
As you gather in your virtual circles of celebration or in small circles of families and friends that provide a safe haven for prayer and conversation, know that each of us that embraces the commitment to being and bringing the birth of the merciful one into our cosmos joins with you.  May our common energy of holding hope and joy for a new year bless each other.  May the vibrancy of the presence of God among us console and encourage us into this new year of graced opportunities! —Pat McDermott rsm for the MIA Members
As we prepare for Christmas in what has been a year of turmoil,
may the constancy of knowing God is always in our midst
bring comfort and strength to us all.
Christmas Blessings to all of the Mercy family from the Board of Mercy International Association —Ron Ashworth Chairman of the Board of MIA
Christmas approaches and we come again to the mystery of God-with-us.
The message is at once so simple and yet far beyond our grasp.
In this year in which the lives of all have been disturbed by the one pandemic,
and in which some have known immense suffering,
may each of us play our part in making the God-who-is-Mercy present among us
as we celebrate Christ’s coming at Christmas.
Peace and joy from all of us at Mercy International Association. —Berneice Loch rsm CEO MIA

Another Christmas season is upon us, and I can scarcely think of a time when holiday cheer was more welcomed or needed. This has been a challenging year for so many but let us be grateful for the strengthened community that has formed around us and has overcome significant obstacles. As we look forward to a fresh start in 2021, may the year be filled with grace, gratitude, and the same strong sense of community that brought us through 2020. Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and happy holiday!

Christ Jesus, music heralded your birth. We pray that our church and our world may be moved to a new song of justice and peace, healing and faith. As we celebrate your birth, may we reverence one another as embodiments of your loving presence among us.

Merry Christmas from the Mercy Education System of the Americas Board of Directors and Staff

The Word became flesh and lived among us…John 1:14

“I heard a loud voice saying
See, the home of God is among mortals.
God will dwell with them as their God, They will be God’s peoples,
And God himself will be with them;

See, I am making all things new"

(Revelation: 21:3,5

May we continue to recognise God dwelling among us as we become attentive to “new” that is being manifest to us at this time.

Happy Christmas and every blessing for 2021.

During this season, we pause for a breath. -- As Mercy, rooted in a faith tradition, we sense the more-ness of this time. -- Where do we find the “Light of Christ” this year, and how are we invited to share a holy moment, whether of sorrow or joy, or perhaps to ponder together a question? This season reminds us to remember that all of life is a wonder.
May the Light of Immanuel be with you and your loved ones.

As we join you on the Road to Bethlehem this Christmas we pray that our encounter on the boundary path may lead us together, to the fringes, where Love changed everything.

In this life-altering moment of God-with-us, may you know great joy and taste the fullness of Hope and Mercy.
