Sister Elizabeth Davis named to Royal Commission

Recently, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador established a Royal Commission to examine the place of the province in Confederation. The focus of the Commission will be to renew and strengthen our place in Canada and to make recommendations as to how this may be realized.

We, the Sisters of Mercy of Newfoundland, are so pleased that one of the sisters of our Congregation, Elizabeth Davis, has been invited to be one of the three members of this commission. In collaboration with the other commissioners, she will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to our province as she enters into a period of consultation and dialogue with the people, with a view to making meaningful recommendations regarding a vision for our future as one of the ten provinces within the Canadian nation.
