Sisters of Mercy—of the Americas and of Alma, Michigan—Celebrate Founder
More than 100 Sisters of Mercy of the Americas; of Alma, Michigan; Associates; a Mercy Companion, and friends from across the United States gathered on October 23 to learn more about Catherine McAuley and her beatification process.
The guest presenters for this day-long retreat held at Mercy Center in St. Louis, Missouri, were Sister Brenda Dolphin, *Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy of Ireland and postulator for the Cause of Venerable Catherine McAuley; Sister Sheila Carney, *Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and vice postulator (Americas) for the Cause for the Canonization of Catherine; and Sister Mary Prudence Allen, Ph.D., *Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan *who has published a three-volume work entitled The Concept of Woman.
This historic event was planned and organized by Sister Ginger Andrews (Americas), who is a spiritual director at Mercy Center in St. Louis and Sister Marysia Weber (Alma), who is the vicar of Religious Office of Consecrated Life for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
