Tena koutou katoa
Greetings to our Mercy sisters and friends throughout the world.
Thank you for the many greetings and promises of prayer for our new Congregation.
The Leadership Team of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand
Left to right: Patricia Rowe, Clare Vaughan, Denise Fox, Congregational Leader, Kathy Lynch and Mary Catherwood.
Our celebrations (week-long commencing 12 December) have been shared with the local Church and have been marked by a spirit of faith and joy.
Of special delight has been the presence of sisters from around the world: Patricia Bell, Helen Furness, Barbara Jeffery (Institute Great Britain); Patricia McMahon, Mary McGrath, Evelyn Gallagher (Union Great Britain); Lourdes Amascual, Carmela Cabactulan (Philippines); Mary Reynolds, Helena O’Donoghue (Ireland); Mary Waskowiak (Americas); Helen Harding, Diane Smythe (Newfoundland); Nerida Tinkler (Institute Australia), Kath Tierney (Melbourne) and Berice Livermore (Singleton). Another special guest has been Mrs Maureen Cleary who was the facilitator for our 2004 Assembly and the work preparatory to the formation of the new congregation.
Amen we affirm. Amen we encourage. Amen we bless and we celebrate Amen.
May the blessings we have received over these days be extended to all of you.
Ma te Atua koutou e manaaki e tiaki
