Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage begins in Baggot Street

Our Young Mercy Leaders Pilgrimage began in Bagot Street today. Tuesday 1st July 2025.

We welcomed school groups from Dublin, Cork, Belize and USA. They will be with us for the week.

We had a beautiful opening liturgy in our chapel led by Sr Margaret Daly rsm. Each of our pilgrims lit a candle and shared a word on how they are feeling. We heard the words: excited, hopeful, blessed, happy, energised. inspired, restful, peaceful and lots more.

We all joined together then to sing the Suscipe accompanied on guitar by Sr Patricia O'Donovan rsm.

We then moved to the International Room where we commissioned our Young Mercy Leaders Comms Crew - something we have introduced for the first time this year. They have been given their media tasks for today so you can look forward to lots of blogs, photos and videos from them over the coming days.

After a tour of the house and some lunch the pilgrims were welcomed to the more formal part of the programme by our CEO Mary O'Donovan. They were then taken on a journey to learn about the leadership style of Catherine McAuley.

After some afternooon refreshments in our dining room the pilgrims took time out for some creative work and reflection on the day.

We are looking forward to the first reports from our YML Comms Crew and to Day Two of our event tomorrow.
